this old saxophone, i believe this is a Tenor, this came from and estate, of a black Gentlemen Who said his Father played in Jazz Band Back in the early days of i believe around the 30's and 40's and maybe longer. My son played sax in School and tried this for me , it sounds great and all works ,nice loud and jazzy, the pads were replaced not too many years ago before the gentlemen passed ,and are very nice, look new. this is marked under the thumb rest on back Patd. DEC. 8, 1914. 1119954 theres a T Under that then under t is M262473 then and L under that. the width of the bell end is 6 inch. the length of the sax with the neck off measures approx 29 inches long. this has the naked lady engraving and is marked G.C.- CONN.LTD ELKHART-IND- USA . the neck is removable, the mouth piece that is on this is marked FOUR **** MODEL ,MASTER LINK MOUTH PIECE, OTTO LINK & CO, INC. NEW YORK FACING NO. 4. there also are other mouth pieces with this as shown in photos, this has 12 reeds were in the case all old ones. averall the condition of this is very nice, was well taken care of, the surface finish is worn as seen in photos, but there are very few very minor dings, i really can not notice . the box is wood , the covering is worn, the box is dovetailed, inside is still very nice, has few tears on the felt in bottom part and has some dust. i have put a reserve on this to protect my investment.
