RARE Sterling Silver Borgani Jubilee Tenor Saxophone Sax
For auction is my Borgani Jubilee Tenor Sax in the rarest finish; Sterling Silver. This is a boutique horn handmade and assembled in Macerata Italy. Stateside there are only two saxophone shops bringing these into the states. Roberto's of New York City lists this particular model at $5,879.00.
This particular horn is a player that will be loved and appreciated by the most discriminating saxophonists. It plays with a HUGE sound that really carries. It responds with a whisper at the lowest volumes (especially the lowest notes of the LH Pinky Table) and willingly takes as much air as you give it at higher volumes without ever thinning out or sounding overly bright. It comes set up in perfect condition ready to play right out of the case.
The tone in which this horn speaks is quite remarkable. It takes the best aspects of three particular vintage horns. It has the broad vintage vibes of the finest Conn 10m's, combined with the focus of a Selmer BA or Mark 6. It projects like a King Super 20, asking for more air even when your giving it all that you have.
The finest aspect of this instrument is indeed it's tone. No other modern production horn produces a tone as unique to the individual as the Borgani. The horn plays with a remarkably even scale from low Bb to altissimo Bb (my current range). It truly sings; I have consistently used this horn unamplified for my jazz gigs.
My experience with this horn has been nothing but simpatico. From the lush low end to the power and projection of the middle through altissimo range it is truly a vibrant horn. The Silver plate give the horn instant response. Think the lushness of Joe Lovano crossed with "electricity" of Chris Potter's sound.
Included in the auction is the custom BAM style hard case that the instrument came with. Horn plays perfectly. For full disclosure there is one pin prick ping in the lower bow (barely noticed in last pic) and 2 slight scratches to the finish around the octave mech. I tried my best to photo them but it was hard due to the finish.
