This is a 2008 Shandong Pioneer Electric Truck that has just been imported. It is fully registered for street use in California.It is classed as a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle which means it can be used on roads with a speed limit of up to 45mph. The vehicle is limited to 25mph but I believe the motor controller can be connected to a laptop with the controller software and increased to 35mph.
For charging, just plug it into a standard outlet.
This vehicle may qualify for zero emission vehicle tax credits in your state and on Federal taxes. Check with your tax preparer for details. Also the decal on the side easily peels off if you don't want it.

The vehicle is dirt simple to operate, and because it has no fluids, pumps, oils, fuel injectors, ignition/spark plugs or other sub-systems it is pretty trouble free due to that simplicity. Tires, brakes, steering, shocks are easily serviced by most any local shop should you need that. There's nothing exotic about this vehicle, most parts are pretty standard and recognizable. If you need replacement batteries (they are good for at least two years) the national chain Batteries Plus can test/service/replace them for you. The motor controller company also has an online web page and support center. The body is steel, so if you live in the rust belt, I'd recommend getting an undercoat like many people do there to protect agains road salt. Here in California we don't need such things.
Being street legal and DOT approved, this vehicle can be insured by most auto insurance companies. Of course if you live in a gated community, golf course, or you want a farm or off road utility vehicle, you don't need to license it.
This vehicle is not intended for highway/freeway use, but is legal to drive on roads with posted speeds up to 45MPH in most states. It's perfect for around town errands and to/from work, which is 90% of most peoples driving.
