1) Does the violin have the bridge set up, and is it ready to play? The Helmke Does!
2) Does the violin have a tag inside with the name and serial number proving it's not a cheap knock off? The Helmke Does!
3) Does the violin have ebony fingerbard, ebony pegs, and ebony chinrest? The Helmke Does!
4) Does the violin have four adjustable tuners? The Helmke Does!
5) Is the violin Hand Carved by a Master Luthier using select spruce tops & maple back with a hand rubbed finish? The Helmke Is!
6) Does it come with a quality Brazilwood bow with an ebony frog and unbleached white horsehair? The Helmke Does!
7) Is the case a plush lightweight Hard case or a cheap featherweight case? The Helmke Has The Hard Case!
8) Does the violin have an inlaid purfling or is it hand painted on and then lacquer sealed? The Helmke Is Inlaid!
9) Does the violin have a cheap plastic or metal tailpiece that only serves to kill the sound, or is it a REAL ebony tailpiece? The Helmke Is Ebony!
1) The Bridge is not set up. (This means If The Bridge is Not Set up when shipped, then you will be paying $20 -$45 to have it set. The sound post most likely will fall in shipment w/o the bridge set up & will cost plenty to have it re-set.)
2) No Label, No Serial # or No Name inside the violin.(Shows It's Mass Produced in Sweatshops)
3) It has only one of the ebony parts or no ebony at all. The fittings are painted/dyed rosewood, or Asian hardwood (Will Not Hold Tuning and Has A Tinny Sound)
4) It has one fine tuner or 4 cheap aluminum fine tuners(Can Not Fine Tune or Tuners Strip Out Easily)
5) It is NOT Hand Made - is sprayed lacquer, made of non-dried Inferior wood on an assembly line.( Finish Will Flake Off and Wood Will Deform As it Dries)
6) The bow is hardwood or they don't know.(Bow Will Easily Deform)
7) The case is a featherweight (which means material glued directly over styrofoam only).
8) The purfling is painted on or they are not sure.(This Has a Terrible Sound)

The New Helmke model violin has a 10 Year warranty. This warranty specifically includes the actual violin body, the fingerboard, the neck of the violin, the scroll, the chin rest, the tailpiece and the fine tuners. The warranty is specifically against failure of any of the mentioned parts of the violin in the previous sentence. If any of the above mentioned parts in this warranty clause should fail in the period of ten years from the exact date of sale, then USA Music Supply will replace the part that has failed free of charge with a exact or like part at USA Music Supply’s discretion, free of charge, less the shipping charges, which the buyer pays on any type of warranty claim. A warranty claim must be accompanied by a legitimate, dated proof of purchase from USA Music Supply to be valid as well as the failed part returned to USA Music Supply. Damage or failure of the violin caused by abuse or neglect, is specifically not covered under USA Music Supply warranty. Normal wear and tear items are not covered under the ten-year warranty. Normal wear and tear items are defined as strings, rosin, hairs of the violin bow, violin bow, tuning pegs, bridge, the violin case, violin case straps or the sound post falling in the sound hole. Every instrument we ship is packed in brand new packaging, packed to FedEx standards with a minimum of 3" of cushioning on each side. Most instruments ship with a case, and in many instances, we will double box an instrument to make absolutely sure it travels safely. Where possible, we will ship using FedEx.
Instruments to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories and APO/FPO that are shipped USPS will have a $15.60 courier fee that must be paid before shipping. This is in addition to the calculated shipping cost below.
