   *Exceptional 19th Century- Large, LEAPING STAG WEATHERVANE*

  Here is a great Leaping Stag Weathervane with an upturned tail. Unquestionably produced by one of the fine weathervane makers during the late 1800s. Most likely ( Attributed to J.W.Fiske ) New York. Dating to the late 19th century. THE SURFACE AND CONDITION OF THIS HANDSOME STAG IS EXCELLENT!!!. It is made of full bodied copper wth a wonderful detailed zinc head and antlers. Articulated eyes, nose, and fur. There are no bullet holes, Repairs, Split seems, or Re-soldering. No dents or damage to the body. It has it's Original antlers with No repairs!. Most Importantly! is that it retains a beautiful rich original old surface with dark verdigries on the high places and underneath the old gilt that remains. Circa: 1880s-1890s. This is a lovely large investment grade American leaping stag weathervane produced by one of the significant weathervane makers of the period. It has a strong presence and would display beautifuly in your office or in any advaned americana collection.

Measures: 28 in. x 23 in. height.
