| This is a well-used old Nautique with some life still in her. 1,200+ hours on the Ford 351 V8 with direct drive. Starts reasonably easy, but could probably use a tune up since there is some hesitation when you hit the throttle. This is the original classic ski boat that throws a decent wakeboard wake because in 1979 there weren't wakeboarders but there were trick skiers who used the same wake. We have a newer boat now which is why this one is for sale.
The boat definitely could use some TLC to be restored including new carpets. The interior is original and is not ripped or torn, just a bit faded. I do have the interior railing pads but they are not in the photos. The hull is in really nice shape. Several gauges don't work which may just be wiring issues. The most important ones, oil pressure and water temp do work along with both speedometers (one better than the other). The blower, bilge pump, and horn work as well. It has a stock 20-gallon gas tank.
The main problem which is common with old Nautiques is with it is it's lack of neutral. It does shift into neutral easily but the prop still turns at idle so you are always creeping along. I've gotten used to shutting off the engine with people in the water and am careful docking and trailering so it not a big deal to me, but others may want to investigate the issue.
I just recently replaced the fuel lines and fuel pump, and repacked the stuffing box on the driveshaft. The trailer was re-done last year with fresh paint, wiring/lights and new bunk carpet. The exhaust mufflers are new as is the steering cable.
It also comes with a nice bimini top, wakeboard rack, and a "10' Pole" wakeboard extension. I will include a tow rope, skis, a wakeboard and some life vests. These boats are really quality built and pretty simple. If you have the knowhow and time to fix her up she could be a real classic beauty, or just use her as is and know you are saving big bucks but still have a sweet ride.
It can be picked-up in Central Oregon (Bend) or you can arrange for shipping. There is an outside possibility that I could deliver it somewhere in Oregon or California over the Thanksgiving holiday if I travel.
Thanks.
