NO RESERVE !! This is an Original 1938 Regal Archtop Single Cutaway Acoustic Six String Guitar with original Gieb case, both in Excellent Condition! Completely original including all finishes, hardware and craftsmanship! NO repairs, NO changes, NO modifications, what-so-ever! A truly amazing guitar in all aspects! This guitar rings out such an amazing tone and the playability is smooth as silk! Absolute top quality craftsmanship! Super Rare guitar with some very high end features! The body is arched on the top and back. The top is solid, tightly grained spruce with two f-holes cut in the top. The top is finished in a honey gold burst fading to deep blood red and ending in classic black around the edge! The top and f-holes are fully bound with cream colored binding material. Inside the body on the neck block is the number '1151' which is the serial number! The body measures 16'' across the lower bout, 11-1/2'' across the upper bout to the cutaway and the body thickness is 3-3/8''. The whole guitar has great craze checking that is very even and patterned! The pickguard is worth the price of admission alone. Banana yellow with diagonal tiger tortoise stripes across it. A small chromed bracket holds the pickguard to the side. The tailpiece is chromed, mounts to the butt of the guitar, hinges over the body and weighs a ton! The bridge is a two piece rosewood with brass wheel adjusters and brass studs. The sides are solid hard rock flamed maple and are finished in sunburst. The back is a work of art! A one-piece solid, highly flamed maple that has some of the best flame ever seen! The honey gold burst to blood red to black appears to be inches deep and fade into the deep! The back is fully bound with cream colored binding. The neck is a great stick of flamed hard rock maple with a stripe of maple down the center. Very straight and true and has perfect even tone all across the neck! The neck joint is very tight with a great sense of sturdiness! The heel of the neck sports a cream colored cap. The fretboard is one of the best I have ever felt! Super smooth rosewood with amazing grain! The inlays are mother-of-pearl triangles, including the small split squares which are separated with a thin stripe of abalone! The fretboard and frets show virtually no wear! Excellent condition! The nut is ivory or bone! The headstock is super cool! A thin rosewood veneer adorns the face with mother-of-pearl inlays that include three different length lines, the regal logo and a shooting orb! The tuners are top-of-the-line Kluson Imperials with a great high ratio for easy, perfect tuning! The headstock is fully bound with single ply cream colored binding. The case is a Geib done in a beautiful tan tolex with darker brown reinforcement around the edges. The interior has green case lining with a center pocket and lid with the Geib / Arch Kraft badge. The Excelsior latches and hinges are all present and work well as is the brown plastic handle! The case is in excellent condition! This is a very well made Archtop that plays and sounds like a dream! Great Collector condition!!
