Please take a moment to read the following, if you are truly interested in purchasing the boat you are currently looking at, you should know about our dealership and how we handle the EBAY process. Buying a boat is a big decision and you should be able to make an informed selection about the boat and dealership that you purchase from.
Randall Import Motor Cars & Boat Sales is located in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Although we began primarily selling pre-owned German automobiles our business has evolved into more than 90% pre-owned boat sales. I, Edward Randall, have been involved in the pre-owned boat and auto business in Florida for over ten years and my business partner Chris Ficken has been solely in the boating business for 15 years. Chris worked for Mercruiser in their factory in Oklahoma for more than four years before relocating to Florida, entering the wholesale boating business, and becoming a partner at our current dealership. Chris is a certified marine mechanic.
During our years in the boating industry we have established many contacts that have lead to our ability to purchase boats at a discount price and pass along the savings to our clients. Most of our current boats are purchased directly from Banks that have -epossessed them from individuals who defaulted on their loans. We often do not get the electronics that go with the boats, but we do sell and install all types of electronics, again at wholesale costs, so just call and ask.
Chris inspects each and every boat that we purchase and personally takes each boat to the water to determine if there are any issues that need to be addressed. We handle each boat on a case by case basis and make sure that every vessel is sea-worthy, and that the motor, steering, drives & instruments are working properly. We make every attempt to ensure that every pump, light, switch is in proper working order before we place the boat on EBAY, and if we missed anything at all, we will make it right. We have been selling through the same account since 2002 and have received only 2 Negative feedback ratings, out of about 250 sold units (many people do not leave feedback, but if there was a problem you can be sure they would have). The first came from a $40 plastic part on the top of a Volvo out-drive was cracked (a month after he took delivery), the second from a gentleman who won a Harley Softail and noticed a dent under the tank about the size of a quarter when he came to pick it up, we offered to fix the dent or allow him to walk away, no questions asked. You will notice the bike was sold 2 weeks later with positive feedback.
Otherwise our record is impeccable and we do everything humanly possible to please each and every one of our clients. We deliver nearly $4,000,000 in boat sales each year. We are located just 1000 yards from the inter-coastal and offer sea-trials, at no charge, before, during and after the auctions. We encourage you to call us and ask the questions that matter to you.
If you are the winning bidder we expect you to have a deposit to us within 72 hours and to arrange for full payment within 7 days. These are our guidelines, they are not set in stone, but if you need to change them you will need to contact us and let us know that your needs are different before bidding.
Please don’t bid if you do not have the means to complete the transaction. We have an excellent financing source that will lend to out-of-state buyers, but don’t wait until one or two days before the end of the auction, if you need our help with financing contact us early so we can have your financing in place well before the auction ends.
Finally, in writing, if you are the winning bidder and upon inspection and sea-trail feel that the boat was not in the condition, either physical or mechanical, that you had expected, don’t buy it. We will immediately refund your deposit allow you to walk-away no questions asked. We are confident in what we sell and will never force anyone to do anything that they are not comfortable with.
