ACCESSORIES Included...... Take a look below!

Reproduction Embroidery Attachment, Machine Embroidery Hoop (8 inch)
and Box of Attachments

These are ALL included!
98,900 of these kind of Featherweights were made worldwide... You will be owning one of the best sewing machines ever made. Sometimes referred to as the "221 Free-Arm" by those who are not familiar with the model 222K - these Featherweight Sewing Machines were manufactured identically to the original 221 but with two additional (highly desirable!) features:
Convertible Flat Bed into Tubular Bed or Free-Arm
Allowing easier application of sleeves and cuffs... or any hard-to-reach seaming.
Feed-Dog Lowering Lever
Enabling Free-Motion Embroidery & Darning

See how the feed dogs (teeth-like mechanism) can be lowered...
no need to mess with covering them for buttonholes or free-motion work.

Paint has been very carefully touched up around the edge of the bed extension.

All 222Ks were manufactured in Scotland beginning in 1954. Their engineering and design were very labor intensive and it was later determined that manufacturing them was not as cost-effective as originally hoped. Production ceased of all 222Ks in 1961. This 222K's serial number gives a commission birthdate of August 16, 1955...53-years-old!

Today, the 222K Free-Arm Featherweight is considered one of the most highly collectable and desirable Singer Sewing Machines.
Collectable, yes - but certainly PRACTICAL! Oh! My! Goodness! is it ever the best machine I have ever owned. I seriously am in love with mine and definitely feel a "bond" with it. Easily convertible to aid in sewing my daugther's dress sleeves, getting around odd-shaped seams and curvatures and much, much more . . . not to mention the Free-Motion Machine Embroidery you can now so easily accomplish by dropping the feed dogs (Dropping the feed dogs is something you cannot do on a traditional Featherweight 221).
Truly, you will just be amazed!

Regarding the 110 Volt Motor...
This 222K is U.S.A. and CANADA electrically compatible!
Just plug it in and sew!
Because the majority of these machines were made for United Kingdom and European 220 voltage, the motor and electrical components are not compatible in the U.S. and Canada. You would either need a converter (albeit cheaper, but not as practical, desirable or as attractive), or the better alternative, have it completely changed to accommodate our electricity.
That is what has been done with this machine. Motor and it's electrical components are all replaced or electrically changed with original Featherweight parts compatible for North American electricity. All machines go through an electrical-safety inspection... of vital importance when making the upgrade, and most importantly, to have the assurance that your sewing machine is safe to "today's" electrical standards.
All you have to do is plug it in and begin sewing!
Cosmetically, this machine is very good and I grade it a 7 (according to scale at the very bottom of my
page). There is evidence of sewing wear and use with the superficial pin markings and the occasional rub of paint as seen in the larger-than-life close-up photographs as well as a bit more wear to the decals. Some light and very tiny bumps in the paint surface are noted at the back of the bed behind the throat plate. At the edge of the bed extension, you will see where the paint has been very carefully touched up. The case is in great condition, however it is missing the little side tray.
This 222K package is one you will be proud to show off at the quilt class, yet just as proud to actually sew on!
Please note, that I am very, very picky because many of my customers are looking for “showcase” machines... the kind that will not be sewn with, but put on display for the beauty of the machine alone. Those kind of machines I will grade in the 9 category - virtually flawless. With this in mind, I tend to grade a little bit lower than other dealers, which is why I try to take ultra close-up photographs showing you the finish as well as any flaws. Never, will I grade a machine a 10 unless it was a brand-new-out-of-the-box original machine. Even then, it causes one to wonder - how were these machines handled on the factory floor - dust & particle-free white gloves? I have only had four machines in the last few years where I felt truly deserved a grade 9 or above (9+).

Completely serviced, cleaned and running perfectly smooth, this 222K Featherweight sews a beautiful forward and reverse stitch. Motor is exceptionally strong!
You will be receiving a COMPLETE set.
